brand identity & visual systems
Marks, type systems, colour palettes and application guidelines. I build identities that stay coherent and recognisable — made to last, and to work precisely on paper, on screens and in physical space.
My name is Matteo Viti. I work in digital art and design, but I came to it through sound: twenty years of music production before I ever dealt with images.
It isn’t a closed chapter, it’s still the way I work. A visual identity is built the way a track is layered: you take out what is redundant and keep only what holds up to repeated listening.
The tools changed, the approach didn’t. What interests me about technology is what it lets you do, not what it promises: I use it a lot, I chase it very little.
The same goes for trends. The people who start them are usually good, the people who chase them arrive late — and I would rather work on things that age well.
That kind of work needs quiet, so I live in the Tuscan countryside, away from the noise of the city. It’s a choice, not a circumstance.
